- Abstract
Galvanized sheets are indispensable for corro-sion protection of components. Tempering of galvanized sheets using roller hearth furnaces can be improved in terms of quality and efficiency. Subsequent surface treatments are often necessary, e.g. for homogeneous paint application. The IFUM is researching on new temperature control strategies, using resistance heating to enable fast heating rates, high efficiency, and specific roughness.
