the [4+2] Cycloadduct of (Bicyclo[3.2.0]hepta-1,3-dienyl)cobalt(I) Complex with C₆₀

Abstract: The thermal reaction of C₆₀ with (η⁵-bicyclo[3.2.0]hepta-1,3-dienyl)(η⁴-tetraphenylcyclobutadiene)cobalt(I) produced the Diels-Alder adducts. The X-ray structural analysis of the 1:1 adduct revealed a novel molecular and crystal structure. An interesting redox behavior of the 1:1 adduct is described.
