Abstract

In 1990 Germany decided on a World Fair at Hannover in the year 2000, locally there was much discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of such an event (economic, ecological and social consequences) locally and in particular places. The article discusses these issues, and shows the value of recent fairs, and a time programme for the Hannover fair. The authors suggest methods of quantification (building investment, touristic, income, fiscal), the major effects will be local. -D.J.Davis
