Abstract

Modern maintenance generates and needs plenty of information about production lines. Especially in large companies this can result in mounds of data. They have to be administrated systematically, to plan the maintenance with acceptable effort. An automated handling of the data supports the plant maintenance planning and reduces their effort. Within the scope of the CRC 653 "Gentelligent Components in their Life Cycle" components have been developed, which have on the one hand sensorial abilities and on the other hand have integrated media storages. This article addresses the topic of the subproject "Component status driven maintenance", which develops a method to plan maintenance, which uses the abilities of gentelligent components. The plant maintenance planning is based on a data module, which collects maintenance relevant information. It is the basis for a lifelong monitoring of the component status.
