- Abstract
Different methods are applied to immobilize enzymes: adsorption or covalent binding on polymer or porous supports, intermolecular crosslinking with bi- or multifunctional reagents, encapsulation within microcapsules, immobilization in solid membrane reactors and 'reversed micelles'. In this paper, a new method for immobilizing enzymes in liquid surfactant membrane emulsions is presented, which might be suitable for industrial application. Some examples of enzyme immobilization are included.
