Abstract: The book tackles issues of informal housing close to the critical Billings reservoir in Sao Paulo. Solutions of a productive coexistance of informal settlers and a healthy water body are explored. The study was conducted by Christian Werthmann and Fernando de Mello Franco with 14 students of the Harvard Graduate School of Design in close collaboration with Elisabete Franca of the Sao Paulo Housing Agency.
