- Abstract
This paper deals with the role of traditional sketching in times of computer aided design. Sketching is still an essential skill for artists, designers and architects and maybe some others. Sketching in the early stage of the design process means to explore forms, connections and space. But how to teach these skills in times of highly developed sophisticated computer renderings? The authors answer is a special course in freehand sketching called "Unplugged Drafting".
