Experimental modal analysis using ambient vibration

- Abstract
An experimental modal analysis technique is derived using the theory of stationary random vibrations. This method does not require an artificial excitation of the structure under investigation and is based only on velocity measurements. It is well suited for applications to large-scale structures such as high-rise buildings, towers or bridges. Experimental results are given for a twelve story lift-slab-building, for a church tower and for a single span railway bridge.
